About Killer…
Killer is designed to delete the launch.next file, if it exists. Then
Killer launches the application name designated in its STR 500
resource.
You configure Killer by using ResEdit to designate the first application
in a Tabby-style event in Killer’s STR 500 resource, then tell RR Host
or whatever is initiating the event to begin with Killer. You should
also set two other string values: STR 501 configures for Multifinder (Y
or N) and STR 502 holds the name of the file to be deleted -- normally
launch.next.
Why would anyone want such a utility? Its use guarantees that you will
always run a full event, since there will never be a left-over
launch.next file fragement from a crash or any other sort of phenomenon.
Killer is free.
